The Queen’s Book Talk # 27 : The Goode Fight by Seth King

Kindle Edition, 219 pages
Published October 12th 2014

In a stage of life when everything seems daunting, the fight to find love can still be the scariest thing of all – but in college senior Taylor Haney’s case, it may have just become downright deadly.

I’m bad – but I don’t want to be bad anymore.

In fact, leaving my Nashville life behind and swearing off love forever was the only thing keeping me from falling back into my old ways and fucking up again, and I was doing pretty well at pretending to be good – until I met Taylor Haney, that is.

Now I can think of nothing but Taylor. Her shy smile…the way she fidgets with her hands when she gets nervous…the sounds she makes when I tie her to my bedposts and go to town on her…the way I get a glimpse of eternity when I look into her hazel eyes…

And that little lovey feeling is the worst thing of all, because it means I’m breaking all my old rules now – and that means nobody is safe. Especially Taylor.

Because the last girl I fell in love with is currently lying in Brentwood Cemetery.

I may not admit it but I am a fan of New Adult genre so hard I read one every night if I can. More often than not in these novels, male characters always seem to be a snob bad boy turned into a instant changed gentleman when they find the right girl. But in this case, I was shaking my head all the time. I am all for being a bit naive when you fall in love but when a guy is a bit on the rough side and with a criminal record, even though unwarranted, you should consider making yourself safe first before jumping on him. My point is before you jump someone’s bones, make surr that your own bones are safe first.

Don’t get me wrong, I like King’s writing but this book just ticked me off in a slightly wrong way. Yes yes I know the guy is all swoony and shit but sometimes I just want a girl not to be swayed so much by looks and skills in bed that she is willing to risk it all. I may be a fan of bad boys myself but self preservation always come first.

In conclusion, I give this 3 Royal Stars just because I was shaking my head the whole book.

I am on a New Adult binge again. Please stop me. 😭 Anyways, Thank you for reading guys!
