He knows how to score, on and off the ice
Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn’t have the first clue about what she’s going to do after college. To make matters worse, she’s nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di-Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won’t include the king of one-night stands.
It’ll take more than flashy moves to win her over
Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls…he’s a ladies man, all right, and he’s yet to meet a woman who’s immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world—and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It’s not over until he says it’s over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it’s time to stop focusing on scoring…and shoot for love.
The Score is the third book in the Off Campus Series by Elle Kennedy and it may not be the best book out of the 3 but It’s not the least too. I’m sorry but I just love Garret best ( I like his cameo here. Fangirling! ) and Logan the least, Dean being the middle. The story revolves about Allie , Hannah’s bestfriend, who we know is in a long term relationship with Sean, breaks up with him and ended up sleeping with the resident playboy Dean in a drunken wild night. I loved Dean but he seems too good to be true because even if this is fiction I still want my characters to have that trueness in them, if that’s even a word. 😂 If you guys haven’t read this series then go ahead and read read read!
Elle Kennedy does not dissappoint! As usual I love her page turner writing and paired up with hot hockey players and sweet nothings, I am in love! I loved seeing the couples, Garret and Hannah and Logan and Grace, being so sweet and domestic. I love the way these boys are so loyal to each other and their women.
So let’s start with Dean, we knew him from the start as the “I’ll-sex-you-up-anywhere-aside-my-bedroom” kind of guy and was always the one who fools around more than the boys. But here we saw another side of Dean. Going from sleeping with all girls to sleeping with one girl remind me of Ten from Linda Kage’s Forbidden Men Series which I oh-so love. He’s smart, sweet, funny, caring, gentleman and not to mention rich, which basically puts him in my Too-good-to-be-true-even-in-fiction list. I loved how he handled Allie but forgive me for I have no idea how easilly he can jump from ladies man to one woman man in a blink of an eye but maybe that’s just my inner paranoid speaking.
Allie, Allie who was with Sean the first time we met her at The Deal. Allie was with Sean for a long period of time and finally breaks it off. This was a brave thing to do. Sometimes couples in a long term relationship tend to be afraid on breaking up even if there is something obviously wrong in the relationship just because they feel that the amount of time they are together is wortb saving still. I loved how Allie handled the break up, even if she did ended up immediately in a relationship instantly.
So I guess the two points of this book is 1.) How a guy like Dean who has never really experienced that much hardship face a death of a bestfriend and 2.) How Allie can learn how to be independent and not always rely on someone to be there to make decisions for her. It hit both points on point in the end and I love how they stood up with each other and that makes me like this book more.
In conclusion, I am giving this book 3 Royal stars because I like it but not as much as I like The Deal. Thank you guys for reading! 😘
