Nobody ever said life was easy…
People pleaser, Jane Skylar wants nothing more than to earn her art degree, start her life, and bask in the bliss of living with her boyfriend.
But things don’t always go as planned…
Struggling with her creative side, Jane finds herself in turmoil, often confiding in her roommate – another, more talented art student, Keith Hale. Keith just so happens to be her boyfriend’s older, brooding brother. After a devastating breakup, Jane turns to Keith for comfort. But when the lines blur between roommate and lover, Jane’s life becomes more complicated than ever before.
When Keith’s past comes back to haunt him, their lives all get turned upside down, forcing the truth to surface. Now Jane must fight for what she wants–even if it hurts everyone she loves.
*It’s a Stand-alone*
I started and finished this book in one sitting. I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did. I loved Sky’s resolve and decision making and Keith and Cody and Ryan and fuck the parents. I love Matilda too. ❤ It was a bit short lived in the end and I would have wanted closure from various aspects of the book that I can’t divuldge because too spoilery. I highly recommend this book due to intense giddy feelings and emotions. I love it!
In conclusion, I had fun but I wanted more clarification and more character development. Giving it 4 Royal Stars
Even from the start I knew that Jane / Sky will be for Keith even though Cody is present. Believe it or not I hated Cody even from the beginning. He sets Sky aside ( let’s call her that shall we because we are Team Keith ) bring her to his house and just treat her like a sex toy he can’t use. The scenes where Sky felt the need to give up her virginity to Cody were the worst and I felt like retching and killing someone preferrably Sky herself because it was such a stupid logic. I loved Keith being always there for her even if there were times that I felt he was so self destructive that maybe just maybe he’ll hurt her too. I hope for her sake that he doesn’t.
Regarding the parent’s issue, I could totally understand Sky’s but Keith’s are way overboard especially his mother. I hated her with passion. I just wished that the story was more elaborated because I can’t stomach the fact that someone can be that ruthless to her own son.
Keith x Skylar ❤ I love the mushy moments but I also want some independent moments of Sky. I want her to stand up on her own feet more often and not depend on someone. Hoping it will have a sequel for me to know what happened to them.
