From award-winning author E. J. Mellow comes an action romance dripping with vengeful delight.

Orphaned on the streets as a baby, Nashville Brown, a.k.a Kill Operative 3, knows better than to rely on anyone. With heightened senses and superhuman strength to survive, she’s been raised as the perfect assassin.

The trick to her success? Keeping everyone, even her best friend, at arm’s length.

Losing his entire family in the span of a year, Carter Smith left his ability to love buried deep in their graves. His only concerns now are completing his missions and effortlessly charming the next temptress to warm his bed.

The key to his accomplishments? Working alone mixed with a Casanova smile.

But when a deadly weapon needs to be stopped from falling into the wrong hands, the lone wolves find themselves thrown into an explosive partnership. Can Carter and 3 lower their guns aimed at one another long enough to succeed, or will their unwillingness to compromise end up destroying more than their perfect records? Whatever their differences, both agree on one thing—in the game of lies and deceit, the line between friend and foe is often blurred by blood splatter.

The Animal Under The Fur is a hate-to-loath-to-love standalone novel filled with savagery, secrets, and enough angst to wrinkle the pages you’ll find gripped in your hands.

The Animal Under the Fur is a kind of a romantic action thriller. It was a fast paced read definitely meant for readers who love missions and romance. Maybe because I have read books with the same theme as this so I wasn’t that ecstatic about it, but it was a good read. I loved the character history portrayal and growth. I just wanted more involvement from other characters but it was still good. I won’t be divulging on the spoilery tidbits on this section because I wouldn’t want to ruin the book for you all so you just have to read it.

Will be giving the book 4 stars because it is a good read for me. Just a little bit more character growth and romantic moments and stronger twists then it’s perfect for me.

I like Nashville really. She sounds as badass as she looks. She reminds me of Sarai/Izabel from In The Company of Killers. Actually the whole book does but in this one, the woman is a bionic like superhuman and the man is just a hardcore trained assassin. I do love the chemistry and the way they resisted each other. It was a hate to love stpry with a little instalove too. I would have wanted Akoni and Jules to also have a thing but Jules likes girls too and I love that diversity so I’m not complaining.

I think I just wanted a wider sense of the story because it was quite focused on Nashville getting fixed and Carter supporting her. I wanted more Carter back story because his was quote tragic too and he deserves some love and comfort. I would have been happy if he had some kind of family or friend like Nash with Ceci whom I absolutely love.

I also wanted a lot more twist aside from the father and mother back story of Nashville. If you think about it, it kinda was the story of Nashville and 3 only, despite the alternating POVs. I would have wanted a more mysterious Carter and some twist on his part too but a girl can just hope right?

I love the fight scenes though. They were very elaborate and obviously been studied well. I love the A+ human concept. The way 3’s character work is just amazing. To be able to hear and feel and see what everyone is doing is such a great and scary ability.

So in conclusion, I really did like the book but still I wanted more. It wasn’t perfect but I can’t put it down either because it just begs to be read.
